Tucked into a cozy space on Copenhagen’s prime shopping street Krystalgade resides one of Scandinavia’s best vintage boutiques, Time’s Up Vintage. This veritable treasure trove is home to an excellently curated selection of clothing and accessories for men and women, ranging from top designer fare from the likes of Versace [under Gianni, not Donatella], Yves Saint Laurent, Missoni, and more, to well-cut pieces by lesser known labels– always with a focus on natural fabrics, on-trend colors and interesting prints & patterns.
Behind the store’s compelling merchandise lies an even more compelling story. For owner Jesper Richardy, it all began with a pair of shoes. Or rather, about 10,000 pairs. Following his studies in the social sciences, Richardy set out for Italy 5 years ago for a post-collegiate vacation and a chance to reflect on his next move. Il bel paese turned out to be a fortuitous choice, as Richardy crossed paths with an Italian selling off the inventory of his father’s 70s-era shoe factory. This serendipitous meeting left Richardy with a surplus of amazing, never-worn-before shoes that eventually became the starting point for Time’s Up Vintage. Everyone from Céline to Ralph Lauren has purchased pairs for design inspiration, and the brick-and-mortar shop has become something of a reference point for the Danish fashion industry and an international clientele of designers and vintage fiends.
For those who won’t be heading to Copenhagen anytime soon, be sure to check out the store’s excellent e-shop, whose merchandise reflects the same fastidious attention to detail as the store itself. Scroll down to see a selection of current Vault favorites, available for purchase now.
