Tim Coppens Navigates the Urban Jungle

New York: Tim Coppens continues to focus on fabric in order to deliver collections complete with both form and function. According to the show notes, Coppens drew from “disruptive behavior and melancholy romantics with a healthy dose of arrogance,” thus titling his collection “Jungle Sunrise.” There was definitely more of a utilitarian feel this season with nylon cotton blends used for snap button shirts, relaxed joggers, windbreakers, and parkas. Sweatshirts featured bonded techniques and tank tops mesh insets. Coppens continually reworked the bomber jacket with unstructured silhouettes with a rounded hem as well as the addition of vents, flaps, and utility zippers. Other highlights include the unlined, half constructed trench coats that created an ultralight spring/summer outerwear piece. –Matt Feniger
