Milan: the home of sartorial opulence! But not all the best style was on the runway, our Catwalk Teams’ Anna Ross picks the best looks from the streets of Milano!

Boyish Tailoring
As per New York, Milan also takes on tailoring with the-bigger-the-better proving the key rule here.Sartorial, menswear-inspired silhouettes in check materials come inspired by last season’s catwalks, as showgoers take on boxy shoulders, elongated blazers and louche, wide-leg trousers. As this trend develops, we see woven glitters, plastic coatings (hello, Raf for Calvin Klein 205W39NYC !) and faux fur finishes edge the trend into eveningwear.

Bum-Bags
Street stylers go hands-free, wearing waist-packs over summer dresses for an eclectic edge. A look once patented by eager-tourists and festival-goers, the fanny-pack is having its moment in high fashion. Wear over tailoring or your favourite winter coat as the weather gets colder – or across the body for a skater-inspired update.

Colour-Pop
Remember those sweet, sugar hues we spotted at NYFW? Well, in Milan show-goers opted for a more powerful punch, seeing pop-brights worn together or as a statement accessory or footwear. Easier to wear than head-to-toe colour and far more eye catching – we especially love the magenta and sweet lilac colour as seen on Attico’s Gilda Ambrosio.
