Three key trends from the streets of Milan

Milan Fashion Week’s street style saw quite the contrast to the electiveness of London and the sharp, saturated brights of New York.

The Milanese fashion pack upped their game in sharp suiting and paired back accessories. Our Catwalks Associate Editor, Anna Ross  picks out the three key trends to know now.

Reworked Tailoring

Seen on the runways for several seasons and filtering down to the street, the Milan street style pack smarten up their game for the AW18 shows.

Updates include draped jackets, lapel-less blazers and cinched in detailing. Wear yours with a rollneck to transition from Winter to Spring.

Square frame sunnies

We’re seeing a trend for Matrix-esque shapes across the sunglasses category this season. In Milan, show-goers opt for square and slim, as opposed to the cat-eye variations we saw throughout London. The more futuristic, the better, these glasses coin a whole new meaning to “square eyes.”

The Formal Waistpack

Proving that bum-bags have life beyond the festival season, Milan saw wearers smarten up this street-savvy look in minimalist shapes cut in smart, smooth leathers.

Take on this hands-free look by styling yours over a blazer or outerwear, or when it (eventually!) warms up over this seasons transitional must-have, the cardigan.
