TheRunthrough.com launches this week as the first, innovative one stop shop for stylist to source accessories ahead of shoots, transforming the process of seasonal look books into a user-friendly online platform.
Meggan Crum and Mandy Tang are the visionaries behind the website, using their own previous experiences as Accessories Editors at high profile publications, to inform the concept of the service.
The format is simple and speeds up the previously laborious process of collating pieces to accessorize shoots. Fashion brands and designers upload seasonal collections to the site, which are then “shopped” by stylists and added to their cart. Instead of purchasing the items a request is then sent to the brand, including the name of the publication, editor, stylist, shoot description and pickup, run-through and return dates, which is then approved and shipped by the brand.
Each stylist has a private account so there is no visibility to other site users, retaining the personal relations between the stylist and the brand.
“Basically the service that we’re providing is aggregating all of the content so it’s in one place. It’s like a one-stop shop for editors.”
Launched in Beta format this week, a number of influential fashion names have registered to the site and have already uploaded content, including Bulgari, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, and Pamela Love, to name just a few, ready for editors and stylists to peruse.
