Most denim heads out there will be familiar with heritage brand ‘The Stronghold’ a traditional workwear label that was in business between the years of 1895 and 1949.
The brand was resurrected in 2004 by Michael Paradise and Michael Cassel in Venice, LA. Their reproduction of the denim company using honest and time-worn traditions and celebrating heritage, Americana and craftsmanship (everything is made by hand in their building, on Abbot Kinney boulevard) has been much talked about and well received in the denim world.
If you don’t know about the brand or are keen to know more, you’d probably be interested in this video below. The beautifully shot film surfaced a month ago as part of the director, Sinuhe Xavier’s inspiring series of short films named ‘Finding America’.
The project is about finding craftsman that are still keeping the American Dream alive and sourcing local raw materials to build unrivaled quality.
