New York: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen put together another beautifully cut, perfectly styled and languorous collection for Pre-summer 2016. The minimalist lineup cut in luxe materials emphasized many of the sartorial looks – a perfectly proportioned trench was paired over soft cream trousers, while a soft peach coloured duster in cashmere was nonchalantly worn over an easy trouser suit. For all of the sharp cuts, there was a distinct continuation of the softness and purity from their Fall presentation albeit a little more utilitarian in approach – patch pockets in contrast suede on a tailored trouser suit portrayed a slight Mao look or the tailored coats with belts that were notched firmly at the waist. There was an ease and languid elegance to this presentation that made one wanting for more – from a full length leather coat, softly tied, to the final exquisite full length robe dress. The Zen vibe that pervaded may of the silhouettes were completed with long leather pendants and had all the streamlined and simplistic hallmarks of the Olsen twins DNA. – Lizzy Bowring
