Inspired by ladies most feminine moments – Diesel Powder blends cosmetic references with the latest innovations in fabric and cut.
At Diesel, washes are literally part of the fabric. This year, the highlight of their wash selection was a seductive encounter between Diesel’s denim DNA and the art of femininity. The Powder of Diesel collection captures the world of cosmetics – blushes, eye shadow, powder – with denim treatments enriched by colored pigments. The assortment uses treatments such as hand sponging with natural color pigments, hand applied spots of color and manual spraying to bring powder, paint and other cosmetic effects to your jeans.
As if born in the dangerously sexy world of photographers like Guy Bourdin and Helmut Newton, the collection combines extreme femininity with bold sensuality. The key shape is super slim and there are lots of skin-tight and figure-hugging shapes, made possible by stretch fabrics and the new “jegging” family. There’s also a wide selection of classic, boyfriend and bootcut styles – as well as a nod to this summers 70s theme with their fantastic flare. The light fabrics and fresh shades are a perfect combination for the summer.
Powder and smoke effects have been steadily emerging as a source of inspiration in the denim market over the last few months. A number of brands including Ksubi and Wrangler are using plumes of powder and fused layers of vivid smoke in a unique spectrum of colors for their denim ranges.
