Williamsburg’s infamous free summer concert series, The Pool Parties returned last Sunday at the Williamsburg Waterfront with the most unique band performance yet. For the concert’s fifth anniversary, bands (and labelmates) Deerhoof and Xiu Xiu played the entirety of Joy Division’s 1979 seminal debut: Unknown Pleasures.
This year, Jelly, the creative promotional team behind the free concerts has partnered with Veoba, an online resource for artists, labels, and managers to bring the stage closer to the water. Buzz-worthy bands like Memory Tapes, No Age and Delorean will take to the outdoor stage every Sunday from July 11 to August 29.
