The Influence of “Tron”

In preparation for the December 17th release of “Tron: Legacy,” the highly-anticipated to the cult classic from the 1980s, Opening Ceremony has teamed up with Disney for a completely on-trend capsule collection of movie-inspired designs. Retailing from $230-$575, the assortment of men’s and women’s clothes, footwear and accessories is now available at all of Opening Ceremony’s stores, as well as Lane Crawford and Colette. Standout items include neoprene bomber jackets, scuba shirts, seamed leggings and dresses with laser-cut ring details. The palette is based in black with the movie’s signature neons, and two accessories round up the collection — a neoprene sock boot and the Circle bag, done with Threeasfour, that’s an interpretation of the story’s Identity Disc weapon. There’s also a Tron pop-up shop in Los Angeles’ Royal/T featuring high-end jewelry, footwear and bags by designers like Rousseau, Hayden-Harnett, Tom Tom’s and Rotenier.

Stay tuned for a Screen Style report in early December all about the movie’s lasting influence on futuristic-themed fashion.
