In a bold move this week, the NBA unveiled a first in recent history – an official NBA team jersey with sleeves for the Golden State Warriors.

Utilizing the Revolution 30 technology that adidas debuted last year in uniforms across the league, and reducing the overall weight of the jersey by 26% – the new jerseys are is not your Father’s uniform! The style offers 360° stretch for fully functioning armholes utilizing a full range of motion. The Revolution 30 technology also allows the garment to dry twice as fast and increase comfort during gameplay. Shorts included in the kit boast lightweight stretch material with improved ventilation from previous iterations.

Sleeves on a basketball jersey are far from a novel idea. However, collegiate teams within the sport have jerseys of a similar aesthetic in their archives through past decades. Old photos of the Boston Celtics playing in a pre-NBA jersey with sleeves showcase this factor, but of course, the new jerseys are a tad different than predecessors…

Tune in on February 22 to see the new jerseys perform when the Warriors face off against the San Antonio Spurs.
