Douglas Keeve’s Dirty Denim series on the Sundance Channel gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the L.A. Mecca of the denim business and its evolution. The online documentary clips feature Chip of Chip & Pepper, who explains the hardcore reality of the denim industry, from stealing each other’s samples and spying on competitors to copying washes and blackmailing workers in the manufacturing plants. Of course, this isn’t everyone’s reality, but the “dirty” trend definitely extends way beyond washes in the denim world…
