The Curated Cool: Refinery29’s #29Rooms is back for NYFW

Back at it again! Digital media site Refinery29 returns with its immersive (and oh so Instagrammable) #29Rooms installation ahead of NYFW – giving bloggers, editors and the public, a chance to bank as many Insta-worthy posts as their phones will store. This year’s extravaganza taking place in a 80,000-square-foot Brooklyn warehouse explores the theme, “Powered by People”.

Of all the 29 rooms some of the most progressive, engaging and visually stimulating spaces included Adwoa Aboah‘s interactive display of over 500 telephones hanging from the ceiling which played personal stories from women overcoming all sorts of obstacles (keep a listen out for Cara Delevingne on there too).

Brands including Michael Kors, Ulta Beauty, Perrier, Ford and Papyrus, went all out with stunning activations that followed a careful narrative – perfect for the storyteller who will Snapchat the entire space.

A personal favourite, however, was the space-inspired room by YOU-NIVERSE and Radiant Human. Visitors have a chance to do a personal aura photo shoot and reading that interprets and deconstructs the meaning at colour stations throughout the room.
