The POOL Tradeshow kicked-off in Las Vegas this week and debuted a definite denim-brand-to-watch. With designer Pedro Tarno at the helm and mentions in the latest issues of Monocle and Nylon, Hilda55 hails from Mexico, but is sure to storm the US market soon. The brand was born in 1997 by the inspiration of a category 5 hurricane that hit the shores if the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico in 1955. Realizing it was time to rethink how to coexist with the planet, Hilda55 supports and promotes the use of non-polluting means of transportation and recreation. Featuring mostly unisex styles, natural dyes and dry-processing to create their unique colors and finishing effects on American made denim, Hilda 55 has a completely fresh approach…including an airport friendly non-metal belt to go with your jeans – sweet!
