Goodbye spring pastels and hello bright colours. Your new summer make-up guide is here.
Summer cosmetic collections have just hit beauty counters and it’s time to update your make-up bag with some new additions to see you through the festival and summer holiday season. From a supersized classic and contouring compact to a cushion lipgloss, here are my top five products worth investing in.
1. Nars Orgasm Blush Special Edition
Nars’ iconic Orgasm blusher has gone supersized for summer. Launched in 1999, Orgasm blusher is a favourite amongst make-up artists and continues to be one of the brand’s best-selling make-up products thanks to the shimmery peachy pink tone, which suits practically everyone. This jumbo-sized limited edition version is decorated with a protective foil overlay featuring a chic image of a model wearing sunglasses and a hat. And if you’re in Covent Garden this weekend, be sure to check out Nars’ new first boutique in the UK and the flagship beauty store in Europe.
2. Givenchy Cushion Kiss Baume Gloss Douceur
I’m not usually a lipgloss girl, but these new glosses from Givenchy are amazing. It doesn’t leave a sticky finish and the balmy texture really plumps and hydrates lips for a fuller pout. The cushion applicator (which is inspired by the popular Korean cushion compacts) makes it super easy to apply too. It’s available in two colours: Coral Kiss, a soft coral red, and Berry Kiss, a raspberry, and more importantly, both will look great with a summer tan.
3. Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Colour
Contouring has been a buzzword in the industry for some time now and nearly every beauty brand has launched a contouring product of some kind. One product that has caught my eye is the new Chanel Healthy Glow Multi-Colour. Available in either brown or pink, the powder duos come with two complimentary shades: a darker one to contour and a lighter tone to highlight. This product is guaranteed to give you radiant, sunkissed skin all year round.
4. Clarins Waterproof Eyeshadow Shimmering Cream Colour
Eyeshadows are making a comeback this season and one product that has excited me are these little tubes of eyeshadows from Clarins. Filled with shimmery cream-based colours in bronze, copper, silver and golden peach, the eyeshadows can be applied easily with fingers allowing you to achieve subtle or more intense looks. The waterproof formula means you can even wear it in the pool ( it’s the ultimate summer makeup with staying power despite the sun’s rays, and trips to the pool).
5.RMK Nail Color
I’m really loving blue nails right now and these two new colours from RMK are my current favourites. The darker navy tone looks great on toes, while the indigo hue adds a bold pop of colour to my fingers.
