The Beauty-Full Week: Product essentials to invest in during holiday season

It might not sound cool, but since we’re all getting busier in our daily lives, we want our products to do more. So when shopping for myself and my loved ones I keep my eyes peeled for products with extra benefits, from a beauty advent calendar packed full of samples to products with dual usage, this is the best time to stock up.

1. Winter’s Glow

Jurlique’s credentials run far and wide, from their all-natural status to products that smell like heaven’s scent, not to mention the fact that their skincare really does work. And so this Christmas I want to stock up on the brand’s cult Rose Body Oil – guaranteed to hydrate and soothe at the same time (helping you enjoy much-needed me time) – and it happens to come in a beautiful limited edition gift set box that will look lovely popped under the tree.

2. Burning Bright

A Diptyque candle is a must for the festive season and for fans of the brand the holiday season is the perfect time to get your hands on the limited edition collection. Designed in collaboration with artist Julien Colombier, the three-piece collection is inspired by the wonders of nature, with delightful flacon illustrations depicting the wildness of the rainforest to accompany the earthy scents. Sapin is my waxy goodness of choice, which pairs the scent of a pine tree with a hint of mandarin for a citrusy burst.

3. Star-Gazing

The cosmos has been a strong inspiration for the beauty world this season, and I have to say that Aesop’s refined, constellation based Maps of Light gift boxes are my personal fave. Housed in minimalist black metal tins, each set is named after a stargazer’s wish list and include some of the brand’s most loved products. Delphinus – ‘the dolphin’ in Latin – contains a skincare regime suitable for any skin type with the Fabulous Face Cleanser, B & Tea Balancing Toner, Camellia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream and Primrose Facial Cleansing Masque. My skin will be absolutely fabulous come New Year’s Eve.

4. Count-Down
Yes December is already underway but that doesn’t mean I’m too late to start opening a new advent calendar to work alongside my Dairy Milk variety. Lane Crawford’s offering caught my attention thanks to its snazzy mini box design allowing for both big and small presents to be housed inside. I also like the fact it doesn’t have to propped up like a puppet – but the real clincher are the brands hidden within, everything from YSL Beaute to Clarisonic and Giorgio Armani. 24 days of bliss.

5. Twist & Shout

I’ve recently had my hair chopped off – like really short – with only a fringe that needs styling on a daily basis so I don’t look like a Justin Bieber wannabe. At present I lack the necessary appliances to do this quickly and easily so I’ve got my eye on the GHD styling wand gift box to make my morning’s that little less painful, helping me save those valuable few minutes.
