This week it’s a beauty column with a twist.

We opened out the beauty conversation to our global colleagues, editors who cover everything from Active to Think Tank. We wanted to know their favourite products, the classics that they use again and again, tried and tested over time.

So, this week it’s all about them.

Guys you’ve got the floor, what are the beauty products you really can’t live without?

Bare Minerals’ Original Foundation is my absolute fave. I became a Bare Minerals convert and evangelist about 10 years ago when, after years of using heavy cream and liquid foundations, I was persuaded to try one of these newfangled mineral things. It was a revelation! It was so light and natural that at first, I struggled to get used to the naked-Sunday-face feeling everyday, but once friends started commenting on my glowing skin I soon got over it. It lasts through the day, through a workout and as a surprise bonus, the breakouts I’ve suffered my whole life are a thing of the past. My skin can now breathe.
So when Bare Minerals launched this limited edition travel version a few years back I was ecstatic. I travel a lot for WGSN and this notebook size palette lives in my hand luggage when I fly – hence its ‘well-used’ appearance. With foundation, concealer, bronzer and highlighter, I can leave my bulky make-up bag at home which means space for another pair of shoes in my suitcase!

Loreal’s Men Expert Hydra Energetic Moisturiser was given to me as a gift one year. Like many guys I never used to take care of my skin but I thought I would give it a go.
I have quite sensitive skin and this moisturiser is the ideal product to help. It hydrates but also stops it from getting greasy and prevents blemishes, unlike a lot of other products I’ve tried that end up making me feel oily. I apply a little every morning after the shower to keep me fresh faced for the day.

My everyday go-to product is from a new collaborative collection by Hera – a well known South Korean makeup brand – that has been created with British footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood. I love the packaging design, instead of a simple exterior the product uses eye catching zigzag lines on top of a bold floral motif. This new product is a multi-functional sunblock foundation that works as a mist, and also enhances hydration for the skin. The reason I love it? It provides the best coverage but still manages to be lightweight. The finish is perfect, it’s like an invisible layer of protection that has the illusion of a naked, luminous glow.

It has to be Bobbi Brown skin foundation for me. I love it because it’s so light to apply and I literally use two pea size drops on my face. I apply it using the Bobbi Brown foundation brush then go over with my fingers, although when I’m in a rush, I use my fingers to blend it in- nature’s best brush, innit? It’s one of my all time faves because it makes you look clean and flawless, even by the end of the night you’re still glowing. This product is great to wear with a peachy blusher and mascara or add a eyeliner to open up the eyes.

Whether I’m combating the horrors of jet-lag or trying to replicate the “no makeup” look that the Hadid sisters have perfected (#flawless), my must-have products are Shiseido eyelash curler and L’Oreal Telescopic mascara.

Being part Asian, it was a challenge to find a brand that worked with my eye shape and didn’t guillotine my lashes. Enter Shiseido and the rest is beautiful, eye-lash curling history. The product is always in my purse and/or carry-on bag alongside my mascara; they’re my make-up equivalent of Beyonce and Solange.

Truth be told, I was a bit of a mascara snob and only used a very high priced luxury brand until five years ago. While on holiday a few years ago, a bird ran away with my mascara (long but true story) and I ended up trying Telescopic – game changer. It holds curl and doesn’t flake or clump and coupled with my curler – I feel ready to give Tyra a run for her money in a smize-off.

Editors note: Special thank you to Patricia in our NY office who acted as a hand model. I dont think readers want to see my caught in a new york storm without an umbrella look.
