The 2011 US Open of Tennis x Stylesight

What happens when one of the biggest names in tennis invites you to its private box at The US Open of Tennis? Well, you go! And that is exactly what we did when K-Swiss kindly invited the Active Team to watch some of the best players in tennis last week at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

For attendees at the US Open, watching a match is strictly luck of the draw, and well, luck was certainly on our side! We had the VERY rare chance to watch both Mr. Roger Federer and Ms. Serena Williams play center court. Federer, (of course) beat men’s singles player Dudi Sela and Williams crushed women’s singles player Micheaella Krajicek in straight sets. (And equally exciting to see Williams, first hand, wearing her Godet pleated Scarlet Fire Smash Hard Court Dress that we checked out recently at Niketown).

It was really interesting to see the head-to-toe uniforms from Ralph Lauren in deep blue with neon orange accents worn by the ball boy and girls, and the more clean cut button-front shirts and tennis ties worn by the attendants. Setting the trend first at the tournament, these looks directly transcend to retail for consumers.

Another highlight, was hanging out with the family of number one US Men’s singles player and K-Swiss sponsored athlete, Mardy Fish. His wife, mom and dad all hung out with the crew in K-Swiss’ box, so it certainly elevated our experience and added a true authentic vibe. Not to mention the fact that Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour, sat only 30 feet away from us during Feds match!

A HUGE thank you goes out to K-Swiss for such an amazing experience. We can’t wait to see the finals this weekend!
