New York: Tess Giberson found inspiration in the early works of Christo for her F/W 12 collection, fittingly called “Wrap.” Looks had a certain weightlessness, but gained substance from a range of textured layers — a sheer tunic layered over a sequin maxi, and an almost invisible mesh tank topped perforated suede pants — all topped with ladder-like leather harnesses. The theme played out best in Giberson’s signature knits, which vacillated from sweater to scarf and featured intricate openwork stitchery. Most refreshing was a handful of pale hues which took the form of lustrous silk skirts and a glossy fur vest. —Anna Jane Davis
