Taking Pictures of People Who Take Pictures of Themselves is a self-published monograph by photographer Sidney Lo. The twenty-three-year-old NYU graduate began his book as a result of his senior exhibition in 2007.

Over a space of three years the San Francisco based native traveled the world to photograph a sample of the 60,000 fashion devotees who responded to the question “What are you wearing today?” by posting photos of their outfit choices on superfuture’s message board, supertalk.

Lo shot the often anonymous respondees in their homes and hangouts giving only their screen name as contact info – bringing the niche fashion message board community to life (albeit in a traditional 2-D format). The A4 book features over 85 portraits and is available for purchase direct from Lo’s website for $35 USD.
