As the SXSW music festival kicks off in Austin, streetwear makes the case that it’s not going away anytime soon. WGSN’s Sarah Owen reports.

As the interactive portion of SXSW comes to a close, music fans from all over the globe take over downtown Austin. From the Fader Fort to the Spotify house, brands and venues collaborate to offer headliners such as Future, Jamie XX, Santigold and Blood Orange. Day one was quieter than usual but brought in an interesting crowd, with streetwear dominating as the popular aesthetic of choice. Check out some of our favourite street style looks so far:
