SXSW Festival

We’ve just flown back from renowned Austin music festival, SXSW, where the hot weather combines with great street style and emerging music acts.

The hot new showcase venue, the French Legation, with its chilled out ‘garden party’ atmosphere was a great place to spot emerging 70s hippie looks where the denim waistcoat was a key item. We caught sets from Tune-yards and Sean Lennon with his girlfriend Charlotte Kemp among a bohemian, retro crowd.

The Fader Fort remained a key area for the cool kids – the patched rock vest and the classic cutoff denim short prevailed in the soaring temperatures and a strong 90s vibe influenced the styling. We loved both the sounds and the look of hot new DJ act out of New York, Ghe2o Goth1k.

We’ll be bringing you a full denim street style report in just over a week and the images will be in the search in a couple of days.
