“Heidi on Parade” was the mission statement for Tao Kurihara when she created this collection. An army of toy soldiers straight from the classical ballet The Nutcracker formed on the runway, dressed in capes, shrunken blazers and band jackets. Knickers were cropped to just above or below the knee and accented with shiny gold buttons. Small tassels were added to textured hosiery. The whole thing topped off with over-scaled high hats and Busbys. But that was only half the story, floral skirts and voluminous blouses looked straight from the Swiss Alps.
