Men’s swim trunks have gone luxe with several special edition styles surfacing poolside this summer. Here are a few of our favorites.
When it comes to celebrating, French brand Vilebrequin really knows how to make a splash. To honor their 40th anniversary, Vilebrequin has released swim trunks printed with a retrospective patchwork of their signature tropical motifs. With only 2,100 pairs available and at $550 apiece, these shorts are a hot collector’s item for any swimwear aficionado.
For their 50th anniversary, legendary California surf shop Katin has teamed up with fashionable global advocates Apolis on a series of exclusive handmade shorts. In addition to being 100% manufactured domestically, these 60s-inspired shorts are looking incredibly chic in cool chambray, nautical navy blues and white sand neutrals.
Luxury swimwear designer Adam Brown, of Orlebar Brown, is making waves this summer with iconic illustrator Alan Aldridge on a collection of swim trunks printed with psychedelic graphics such as the “third eye trip” and “giggling guru.” The surreal swim shorts, along with other special edition trunks like the dog series, are available in Orlebar’s elegantly tailored “bridge” and “bulldog” silhouettes.
