New York: Suno designers Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty often mine traditional cultures for their inspiration, diffusing crafts and prints from a wide variety of continents into fashions appealing for a modern customer. For F/W 13 the collection took a distinctly folkloric direction, with embroidered floral trim, pom-pom tassels and plenty of peasant silhouettes, including long notched neckline tunics and tiered ruffle skirts. But as always the duo knew exactly how to modernize their work, employing grungy plaids and cool blouson shapes for a youthful Fall infusion.—Nina Stotler
