The summer season is always a peak time for weddings, bridal showers and engagement parties. Optimal weather and sunny outdoor venues bring vibrant life to summer bridal showers. This season, brides are focusing on their eco impact too. When it comes to event planning, this summer focus has switched to using eco-friendly products and reusing old, vintage items for weddings that both keep the cost down and don’t leave piles of paper plates behind.

This inspiring eco-edge is showing up in two ways, firstly, embracing mother nature (the influx of greenery, florals and natural materials in wedding displays) and secondly, in terms of product, shower tablescapes to party favours, goodie stations and cutlery settings all come with a sustainable edge.

Vintage dressers, old desks and wooden planks act as greeting areas full of treats, favours or gifts now, taking away the need for expensive rental tables and reusing the old, adding character to the event. Tablescapes use green palms, mini pineapples, singular flowers and leafy greens.

Floral styling ideas from Wild Folk Studio- that play off Mother Nature’s natural beauty.

Broken terracotta pieces are repurposed for name cards and antique polished silverware ages to a tarnished shine – embracing imperfection.

Disposable and sustainable settings add an organic feel, while allowing for easier clean-up and affordability. The grandmother’s Victorian tea set is brought out of the cupboard and used for flower vases.

Old suitcases are used for displaying wedding phrases, reusable jam jars and milk jugs are given as favours filled with honey or candy. Practical canvas bags, painter sets and grow kits are other options for gifts that can be used after the party.

These inspiring styling options and products are making it possible to host or attend your next wedding, and leave the planet a less damaged once all the festivities have ended.
