The soft glamour of Cavalli’s previous collections morphed into an edgier concept for F/W 09. “She’s tough, aggressive, sexy, and young, and she’s going to help me fight this crisis,” Cavalli said. Exaggerated lapels on cropped fur jackets sliced across sheer cashmere turtleneck tops. A big-over-slim silhouette came forth from these jackets worn over skintight suede pants, with a detail of braided patent leather creating a unique center seam down the front. Segmented copper sheath dresses were embellished with grommets and worn over thigh-high boots with zipper seams at the back. The same all-over studded effect also carried over onto mini skirts. A nude-toned drop waisted fringe dress provided a softer alternative to more aggressive looks.
