We couldn’t be more stoked to find out the latest and great news in the world of fashion and sport…Stella McCartney has been appointed the job as creative director of Adidas’s United Kingdom 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Kits!

“As a British fashion designer it is an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be creative director of Team GB as the hosting nation of the London 2012 Olympic Games,” McCartney said in a statement.
McCartney will be designing both the uniforms for Great Britain’s team and Olympic themed apparel for fans, which will be available sometime this fall. Adidas, who has been dressing the Great Britain team since 1984, is also the official sponsor for the 2010 Summer Games in London.

We’re sure this is quite an honor for Ms. McCartney to be appointed Team Great Britain’s creative director for the Olympic Games – quite fitting though, we think, due to her six yearlong relationship with Adidas, where she has been designing the Adidas by Stella McCartney women’s performance line since 2005. We can’t fail to mention though that this is the first time a well-known designer has collaborated with a top sports brand to design Olympic Uniforms.
