New York: Focusing on items rather than outfits, Stella McCartney made sure that every garment offered for C/R 12 was special, each offering its own unique appeal. Patterns — from tropical Rorschach-type images and palm tree motifs to houndstooths and stripes — were used for tailored silhouettes cut from both sturdy and fluid fabrics. Printed leisure separates, silk suiting, color-blocked knits and embellished dresses were eclectically styled, further accentuating each piece’s individuality. –Whitney Kessler
