Stella Jean makes us long for a taste of the Caribbean

Milan: True to her signature, Italian-haitian designer Stella Jean honed in on her Haitian roots. Colourful, painterly prints featured women in traditional dress, landscape scenery and tropical motifs, which were complemented by lighter polka dots and stripes. A feminine collection overall, the lineup included a plethora of skirt varieties and shirtdresses. Sport jerseys and t-tops added an active element with a slightly boyish feel. This was a presentation that commanded attention and made us long for a taste of the Caribbean. –Deirdre Pérez
