Every once in a while, we get inspired, the old-fashioned way…from a magazine. Forget about blog this or blog that, this week (the equivalent of a year in trend-world) all our attention is focused on the newest issue of Intersection Magazine. When it arrives (a mere 4 times a year), the Active team gathers round to drool and catch up on the international circuit of fast cars, luxury eco-yachts and electric motorbikes.
This issue, the cover features powerhouse visionary and all-around creative type Philippe Starck in his soapbox. Now, this is not your run of the mill soapbox derby racer. This racer was dreamt up by Mr. Starck and his wife in conjunction with Intersection magazine.
The racer is made out of mahogany, leather and polished aluminum. According to Starck’s extensive notes, he thinks that it should ideally be made by Bentley. Did we mention it has no brakes or steering wheel? Fixies are brakeless, why not derby racers?
Thankfully, the good people at Intersection test drove the soapbox (as they do on “stunt” page of every issue), to ensure readers that in fact, you can stop if you get creative. Check out the sick sequence and video below.
