At Pitti W in Florence, there was a surprise showing of Proenza Schouler’s Spring 10 Collection. The design-duo, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, usually have a runway show in New York along with all of the other womenswear designers, but this year opted for a special showing across the pond. Their presentation was anything but typical in an attempt to “up the ante,” as they said. In the open air space, footwear was displayed in an installation curated by Haim Steinbach, Kembra Pfahler performed under the stage name of the Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black and a music video was played. The music video, by performance artist Kalup Linzy, included Chloe Sevigny and Liya Kabede dressed in the spring collection. Guests appropriately munched on popcorn as they watched the movie.
