Last week, Spanx unveiled their exciting new product lines in a pop-up showroom at the Bryant Park Hotel amidst the hustle and bustle of New York Fashion Week. Their sleek, gravity-defying shapewear has become an essential in every woman’s wardrobe and now they’re hoping to conquer the swimwear and men’s markets. Launched just last week, the swimwear line reflects the company’s increasing integration of fashion into their functional basics, hitting all the key trends of the season – color-blocking, print mixing, asymmetry and figure-flattering retro silhouettes. Their patented shapewear technology still remains at the core, making this an enticing item in more ways than one.  Although many may approach the new men’s line with trepidation, Spanx has managed to create a product that has all the benefits of shapewear without the look of it. Using basic cotton jersey with a high spandex content, the tanks and tees look like any regular packaged undershirt with subtle “compression” around the waist and plenty of wiggle room across the shoulders for a comfortable fit. The line is currently available exclusively at Neiman Marcus and the Spanx website.
