London…”I was researching Inuit culture and sci-fi, experimenting with computer programs so I could mix traditional pattern with the pixelation you’d see on a monitor screen.” explained Louise Goldin. explaining her “Space Eskimos” collection for fall. It proved to be the perfect follow-up to last season’s standout collection of sporty color-blocked knits. Louise Goldin appears to have that rare talent, the ability to take inspiration from current themes in fashion (using tribal references plus there’s a hint of Balenciaga S/S 08) mixing it with current influences (pixelated graphics that are perhaps reminiscent of army regulation camo) and putting her own unique spin to the mix (the bodies themselves have a unique look enhanced by being rendered in knit). In just a few seasons, as part of Fashion East and now on her own, Louis Goldin has become an integral part of the London fashion landscape.
