It’s that time of year again. Snowboard video premiere season. Come Autumn, it happens like clockwork with a sea of fans desperately waiting for the unleashing of new flicks. The Active Team already had the pleasure of attending Burton Snowboards’ 13 in New York City a few weeks back…so we’re definitely eyeing up the additional batch of films from a variety of brands and directors within the industry.
Yesterday, DC Snowboarding unveiled its first snowboarding film since 2008, entitled “Must Be Nice”. To celebrate its release the brand showcased the film in a free live stream for Global Viewing at various times from 11am to 11pm. Quite a sight to see OG pro Devun Walsh still killing it and new, young bucks like Anto Chamberland making a name for himself on the screen.
Tonight, another film is about to go down in New York City. Jeremy Jones’ and Teton Gravity Research’s Further. (Granted it first premiered in Squaw Valley, California, it’s always a treat to see snowboarding make its way to the concrete jungle.) Further is the next installment from Jones after Deeper in 2010. Let’s be honest here…the guy is next level…like really next level. Jones doesn’t take a chair lift, nor helicopter to descend where he snowboards. He is the purest of the pure, hiking gnarly chutes and crevasses in untouched locals around the world. With Terje Haakonsen, DCP and Nicolas Muller by his side (along with a handful of world class athletes) Jones transcends the definition of limitation.
Last and certainly not least comes from another favorite, Forum Snowboards and its new film, #Forum starting pro riders Andreas Wiig, Pat Moore, Jake Welch, Nic Sauve, Austen Sweetin, Cam Pierce, Dani Elek and Mario Kaeppeli. The World Premeire is taking place tonight on the West Coast in Newport Beach, California at the infamous Lido Theatre. Get there!
Gitty up, because it’s gettin’ cold out there. Pray for snow!
