What is it?
It’s a special machine that 3D prints a lip colour in about a minute. The best thing is watching the lip colour come to life, which is mesmerizing!

What’s the USP?

There are only three machines in the world: one in California, one in London and one at Smashbox’s laboratory in the US.

How does it work?
The machine is really cool and super clever. It prints the colour on a mirrored compact rather than in bullet form. It’s only available as a gift with purchase at the moment at Smashbox’s Studio Store on Mortimer Street, London, however, it is also being used at beauty events.

Why we love it?

It can create a range of different designs. For the press launch, iconic London landmarks, the British flag and fun motifs such as lips, birthday cake and diamonds were printed for the UK journalists to take home in their goody bags. Right now, the machine can only print one colour (a red that suits pretty much all skin tones), but we think there could be endless possibilities for 3D printed cosmetics and even different colours that can be created in the future.
