A Greek company with the minimal, tranquil aesthetic influences of Scandinavia, Coco-Mat specialises in bedding accessories made from 100% natural materials. Their mattresses, pillows and bed linens bring the restorative and regulating properties of plants to the sanctuary of the bedroom, and it goes without saying that a visit at their stand was one of the highlights of our days at Salone this year.

With collections of organic cotton bedlinen in the loveliest colours and duvets made from goose down, feathers, as well as 100% pure virgin wool, Coco-Mat is right down my alley. Their pillow menu consists of twelve fully customisable pillows, containing materials such as natural rubber flakes, seaweed, eucalyptus and lavender. Imagine getting the benefits of aromatherapy while you sleep…

With all round zippers for easy access and maintenance, their mattresses also use each material’s natural properties to improve the quality of our nights. Cactus fibre and horsehair regulate humidity, while eucalyptus and seaweed soothe the breathing system.

Coco-Mat’s holistic approach is perfectly in line with the continuing trend for a more natural, authentic way of life. Convinced that our body naturally knows what is right, founder Paul Efmorfidis wanted to make mattresses that are elastic and flexible and adapt to our curves, rather than the opposite. Gone are the days where it was our body that needed to adapt to hard, industrial metal springs.

Some of the hotels equipped with the brand’s natural products include luxury boutique Hidden Hotel in Paris, five-star The Landmark in London, or The Grace Hotel in Santorini.
