New York…Ralph Lauren
Known for his American classics, Lauren provided newness with his F/W 09 collection with a surprisingly light palette. Antique white and deep black looked sleek, while a new cosmetic palette of blush pink, cocoa and taupe emerged on lush surfaces like silk charmeuse and velvet. An exaggerated Jodhpur was the silhouette of choice for pants and belted tops and floor length dresses were cinched at the waist. Patchwork coats and mixed media cardigans conjured a hand-worked quality. A face-framing collar on a wrapped wool scarf added another dimension to menswear style suiting.
