London: Chosen as one of Fashion East’s three sponsored womenswear designers for a second season in a row, Simone Rocha presented a strong sophomore collection. Consistencies between seasons, like tailored silhouettes, cutouts, and pieced constructions, have begun to define Rocha’s signature aesthetic, while the incorporation of knits and fur updated it for fall. Fabrics were pieced so that the backs of garments rarely matched the fronts, and sheer insets created the illusion that single items were multiple pieces. Detached collars were both on-theme and on-trend, with similar neckwear having also been shown in other collections this season.
