New York…Loden Dager
Shown in the library of the General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen, Loden Dager’s F/W 09 collection was what it appeared to be – classic clothes for men with no frills or tricks. The library’s card catalogs (remember those?) that surrounded the room only added to the retro mood. With a definite mid-21st Century feel, there were mostly neutral hues with an occasional pop of blush or green. Understandable layering was the stand-out styling detail, especially for the bulky knits over top of other knits. The light, gauzy scarves were tied back in a way that they almost became a neck adornment. The few plaids were extremely understated and tonal. Almost all the pants had loose-fitting legs and low-dropped rises.
