NEW YORK…Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos, formerly of the laid-back label Trovata, have gracefully evolved their namesake line Shipley & Halmos since its debut last fall. An edgier, darker look prevailed this season, giving the collection a more modern feel than ever. While the clothes themselves verged on the side of simplicity, black and grey tones highlighted sharply cut basics. Lengthy chain belts and trapeze like statement necklaces accentuated the clean architectural lines of skintight turtlenecks and iridescent dresses.  For junior inspiration focus on the tougher, sleeker looks in this conceptual collection.
