New York…Carolina Herrera
With the US currently in the global spotlight for its newly inaugurated president as well as its roll in the economic turmoil, let’s hope that this iconic American designer’s recent collection was a positive prediction about the market’s future. Ladylike looks in rich textured fabrics were seen in a new metallic finish; the color of a brand new penny. Always with an eye for fabric innovation, Herrera created slim trousers in a three-dimensional two-tone copper jacquard paired with a luxe fur chubby. An oversized sweater knit dress was cinched at the waist with a molded and polished metal belt that carried over into jeweled heels and bracelet sleeves on a knee-length sheath dress.
