After eight years working together on various projects, Shaun White and Target have teamed up again to create White’s very own shoe collection. The best part is, Shaun has stamped his seal of approval on every single style, guaranteeing that these shoes were built to last in any skate-worthy situation. Last week, we were invited to preview the new collection (which also includes softgoods that Shaun and his brother Jesse worked closely on) at the Target Showroom in NYC. Both brothers were in high spirits, sharing thoughts on the design process….reminding us that each detail, from the graphics on the knit tees to the colorways of the wovens and shoes themselves, were hand selected by Shaun, Jesse and their team.
Just in time for summer skate sessions, the shoes are scheduled to hit select Target store locations by mid July. There are six total – three for young men and three for boys – in different colorways. We especially liked the low-key gray suede and canvas uppers with white outsoles and foxing stripes. White said he’s been test driving the kicks during these last few months; seeing what works and making sure they are technically on par for skateboarding. With all the well deserved success that Shaun has manifested over the last year, we’re sure there will be kids lining up in front of Target the minute the shoes are shipped!
