Shanghai Fashion Week: AW 18/19 highlights
Apr 11, 2018 | By Jennifer Zhang
Milan: Donatella Versace wanted to connect the fast and dynamic digital world with the codes of the Italian house. She called her new collection ‘# Greek’ – “this is my Versace for today and forever. #GREEK symbolizes everything: the traditions of craftsmanship and the Greek key, the emoji of the future” – said the designer in the show notes. Bright primary colours such as lipstick red, canary yellow and emerald green were used throughout the lineup. The new Versace looked fresh, bold and upbeat – cut-out outerwear and chic mini-dresses were paired with thigh-length patent leather boots and rollnecks in primary colours. Quilted windowpane outerwear, patterned knits and tailored trousers put a contemporary spin to daywear dressing while keeping the sexiness that the fashion house is known for. Cut and slashed garments such as tailored suits, slim long dresses and mini-dresses were the real showstoppers. – Diego Sanchez
