Shanghai Fashion Week: AW 18/19 highlights
Apr 11, 2018 | By Jennifer Zhang
London: Black. Sexy. Slashed. Zipped. Unzipped. Julien Macdonald skipped daywear and game out after hours, for VIPs only, with seductive form fitting sheaths of silk and sequins to be worn with attitude, strappy Gina stilettos coiling up the ankles, long gloves and berry stained lips. Lace motifs were outlined in texture, sequins and fur, silhouettes skillfully slashed to the navel and worn with the zipper tantalizingly left undone. Opening in black on black, laced and knitted looks stalked his catwalk with shots of jewels – ruby, fuchsia, emerald and sapphire punctuating his black lace smoldering vamps. His signature little black dress embellished and exaggerated his virtuoso knits as they plunged at the neck line while floor length evening gowns were fringed, slashed and teased a mix of both seducer and dominatrix. Sequins, satin, beading and fur, this was high octane glamour with an opulent hard edge. – Camilla Morton
