Seventies Bombay city rollers at Topman Design

London: Topman design kicked off the menswear season with a show called Bombay city Rollers, where references to the seventies, mod style, glam rock and garage uniforms mingled together. Chalk stripe suits and overalls shared the catwalk with ruffle shirts and flared denim trousers – and everything made sense. A taste of far Eastern psychedelia was present throughout the lineup – carpet coats were cut in oversized silhouettes, suede trucker jackets sported fringe details and mixed yarn crazy knits came in the shape of ponchos and sweater vests. There were more standout pieces – rigid denim came with oversized turn-ups, floor-sweeping coats in ombré mohair and shaved shearling bombers. Elsewhere, tartan was found on mod suits, 4-button peak lapel jackets, garage overalls and cropped trucker jackets. A great start to the menswear season. – Diego Sanchez
