Los Angeles was a denim and music haven last weekend, for the two-day FYF festival (formerly known as F*ck Yeah festival). The festival which was a celebration of music, good sounds and nothing more (this was not your new style: art, tech, music mashup festival) with headliners including Grace Jones, Kendrick Lamar and LCD Soundsystem.
The Queen, Grace Jones moving through the crowd on our beautiful stage manager, Yablonsky’s shoulders. This could be the best moment in 13 years of doing FYF. This festival wouldn’t be possible without the incredible staff that we have. We are already hard at work on next year! #fyffest #gracejones A photo posted by FYF Fest (@fyffest) on
The festival was held at the Coliseum, which also acted as the stadium when the city was the host for the Olympics back in 1984. The setting still has the old sporting memorabilia around to see, and at night during the festival, the old Olympic rings lit up.
Fashion-wise: it was all about LA grunge, and a sea of denim, but not off-the-rack styles, instead there was a huge focus on personalised and vintage denim pieces. Here’s our round-up of the coolest denim duos we spotted on site.
