Serenity in the City at Boss

New York: For resort, Jason Wu focused on the Boss woman: commanding, powerful and sleek. Sleek she was, not a hair out of place thanks to Wu’s attuned eye for impeccable tailoring. Before the show, Wu spoke of his intentions of “injecting a sense of ease into the clothes.” He did just this by applying a soft and feminine palette to colour blocked separates, with the occasional flicker of fire red for the more daring days. Jacquard, inspired by the movement of sand dunes ebbed and flowed around matching sets, wrap skirts and skin tight knits, lending a tranquillity to the collection, without it loosing it’s crispness. Some of the most successful pieces were the V-necks: slashed just below the breastbone with second skin rigour-finished with metal hardware – lending a sensual contrast the otherwise more conservative pieces. Sexy, sleek and covetable. – Anna Ross
