In an attempt to get back to her roots, McCartney gleaned inspiration from her earlier collections to put together looks for her F/W 09 collection. Oversized outerwear with a belted waist was presented in a multitude of materials, from wool gabardine to a pulled knit reminiscent of a shag rug texture. One key item remained from her more sporty spring collection, the boyfriend blazer. Worn with vegan-friendly over-the-knee boots (some featuring laser cuts), the blazer looked feminine with satin trim. Her slip dress returned in a range of lengths with an inspired mix of French lace and velvet. Silver tubular sequins were pieced together to create a chevron pattern on sculpted evening dresses. An envelope clutch (some in exaggerated sizes) was the key bag shape of the presentation.
