We just sifted through all our amazing street photos from last week’s inspiring Pitti Uomo show. always an inspiration for denim, this June was no exception – in fact, we saw even more indigo than ever!

And boy, it was bright! We’ve been tracking brighter indigo shades entering the market for several seasons now, first noted at specialist fabric trade shows such as Kingpins and Munich Bluezone, then working through to apparel shows such as Bread & Butter to Magic Las Vegas. Bright azure indigos popped against the neutral walls and sartorial styling, creating a perfectly blue palette for men. Nods to workwear were still very apparent, but a smarter, cleaned-up attitude created a new dynamic.

We also loved the frugal farmer look (sported above) as well as a great re-imagined railroad jacket in chambray with Eastern-inspired knot fastening front entry. Stay tuned for more denim news from the show, from denim trends on the DDD to apparel innovations on the subscriber’s site.
